Avalon
Lady of Avalon
Hand-built ceramic · one of a kind
Somewhere behind the mists lies Avalon, the Isle of Apples: the otherworld island of British legend, where nine sisters heal every wound. It was there that Excalibur was forged, and there the dying King Arthur was carried by barge, into the keeping of Morgan, eldest and wisest of the nine.
For many, Avalon has a place on the map: Glastonbury Tor, rising out of the Somerset levels, where the veil between the worlds is said to be thin. Today the Lady of Avalon is honoured there once more, in a living temple and at yearly gatherings. She is the soul of the land itself: healer, keeper of the threshold, the one who receives what is wounded and gives it back whole.
The Lady of Avalon sculpture is hand-built from clay at atelier RHEAsilvia in Austria: painted, fired, and one of a kind. Like the isle behind the mists, there is only one.
